You could almost call Maison Crivelli Maison Commotion, because the creations from the brand’s Extrait line definitely make an impression. From Oud MaracuJá, the striking high performer with passion fruit and agarwood, to the softer Musc Nurasana and the mysterious Saffron Secret, intensity is clearly not in short supply here. And now it’s time for two fragrances that once again turn things up a notch: Oud Stallion and Cuir InfraRouge promise opulent olfactory indulgence.
Oud Stallion – When the stallion dances with the oud
I have a lot of respect for Oud Stallion because of the name alone. For me, Stallion suggests a striking, powerful, strong and potent masculine fragrance. After Oud MaracuJá, is there still room for improvement? Perfumer Jordi Fernández dedicated himself to the olfactory realization that combines oud with horsepower.
The fragrance is not explicitly about a specific stallion, as we know it from Parfums de Marly, for example. Instead, the inspiration comes from horse racing, where brand founder Thibaud Crivelli enjoyed the scent of agarwood. So does the composition really contain notes of oud and saddle leather?

Oud Stallion begins with fine, dark leather notes that are extremely elegant and masculine. These are soon joined by spicy, medicinal saffron and smoky oud, which further enhance the leather facets and create a complex, very harmonious blend. Rose and cedarwood lend the creation airy and light accents and ensure that the leathery, spicy and oud composition does not appear too dense or heavy. Tonka bean and cardamom also become more prominent as the fragrance progresses, lending it wonderful spicy-vanilla and aromatic-fresh facets that suit the leather exceptionally well. Finally, creamy, woody patchouli rounds off the creation extremely gently with fine, earthy nuances.
I am surprised! Oud Stallion by Maison Crivelli is certainly an expressive and powerful fragrance, but it is absolutely distinguished, stylish and elegant. Oud Stallion is no loud show-off and no untamed beast, but rather a confident gentleman: refined, charismatic and undeniably seductive. A fragrance that feels especially at home during autumn and winter, and one that seems far better suited to evenings out than to the office. Absolutely stunning. Really great!
Cuir InfraRouge – Leather caresses raspberry
Cuir InfraRouge also comes from the pen of perfumer Jordi Fernández, who interprets the olfactory inspiration of a party night in an underground club with a raspberry cocktail. This already gives us an idea of where the journey is heading: it’s going to be fruity and leathery – a combination that has been very popular in the world of perfumery for some time now. After the wonderful Oud Stallion, I am now looking forward to Cuir InfraRouge and a hopefully fruity and seductive fragrance experience – as a self-confessed leather fragrance fan.

Cuir InfraRouge also opens with leather, but in a completely different way than before. Tart, fruity nuances meet an initially almost pungent combination of oud and leather, which soon calms down and becomes a soft, almost powdery-crystalline blend of juicy raspberry, dark leather and smoky oud. Cedarwood contributes bright, clean facets, while osmanthus provides velvety floral moments accompanied by the finest spices. Finally, iris takes over the olfactory helm at the end, adding soft, powdery, subtly lipsticky nuances to the composition that beautifully round off Cuir InfraRouge.
The Cuir InfraRouge extrait de parfum by Maison Crivelli impresses with its exciting fragrance progression: Initially incredibly expressive, powerful and almost pungent, the mix of oudy leather and juicy, tart raspberry gradually transforms into a comfortingly powdery and seductive fragrance reminiscent of supple suede and delicious fruit leather thanks to clean woods, gentle spices and an enchanting iris. This extrait de parfum is also more for the evening and for going out. A successful conclusion to this special line from Maison Crivelli.
