It’s been just under a year since I introduced you to the Iggywoo brand and its charismatic founder Richard Saint-Ford here on the blog. Fragrances such as Bohemian Water, Cashmere Show Pony, Fantasma Overglow, Cherry Love Extreme and Night Narcotic are now followed by two more creations. With Lost in Vanillatopia and Pistachio Voodoo Child, Iggywoo is expanding its portfolio with two very different but equally exciting compositions.
I’m very excited about both – and it’s an additional pleasure that I’m able to give something away as part of this post. A big thank you goes to the distributor boté cosmetics, who kindly provided the prizes.
Iggywoo in the fragrance diary
Below you will find my previous articles on the Iggywoo brand and its fragrances. The interview in particular offers an exciting insight into the world of Iggywoo and Richard Saint-Ford, who talks very vividly about his work with numerous anecdotes and personal stories:

Lost in Vanillatopia – Vanilla Wonderland
Iggywoo is known for its floral, eccentric and sometimes quirky fragrance names. The label remains true to its line with today’s two candidates. Lost in Vanillatopia… a dream world full of vanilla that seems unreal and into which you want to fall and lose yourself. A place that seems softly drawn, almost enraptured, infused with golden warmth and creamy softness. Or as the press release states: “Vanillatopia – a realm that seems creamy, golden and infinite.”
Top notes: damask rose, grapefruit
Heart notes: musk, honeysuckle
Base notes: vanilla, ambergris, tonka bean
Liqueur-like vanilla, sweet and sensual, opens Lost in Vanillatopia. Warm powdery notes meet lovely vanilla, sweet floral honeysuckle and balsamic ambergris. The tonka bean stands out clearly and adds its creamy, almondy, slightly spicy facet to the composition, which blends wonderfully into the beguiling melange. I do not perceive the top notes of grapefruit and rose separately, but they probably provide a subtle freshness and lightness in the background, which prevents the fragrance from being too dense or too heavy.
Lost in Vanillatopia by Iggywoo is an exceptionally beautiful vanilla fragrance that has been composed very densely and finely interwoven. I can hardly make out a classic fragrance progression – rather, the composition remains constant in its warm, enveloping signature. A cozy, almost floating vanilla that is liqueur-like, velvety and pleasantly close to the skin, interspersed with powdery and gently balsamic nuances. Perfect for fall and winter and versatile to wear. A feel-good fragrance, not just for vanilla fans.
Pistachio Voodoo Child – Nutty green flower magic
After vanilla, the second creation of the day revolves around another delicacy: pistachio. Pistachio fragrances have increasingly appeared on the market in recent years – think Latte Pistachio by New Notes, Golden Pistachio by Sensatio Paris, Fortuitous Finley by Penhaligon’s, Pistachio by D.S. & Durga or À la carte by Lengling Parfums. Dilshad No.17.1 by Pierre Guillaume and Un Jour Sans Fin by Maison Matine also skillfully showcase the nut.
Incidentally, the name Pistachio Voodoo Child refers neither to the nut itself nor to black magic or a specific child, but to a daylily called Voodoo Dancer. Its eye-catching flowers alternate between dark red and black-violet, while its interior shines in bright yellow to orange.
Top notes: pistachio
Heart notes: gourmand notes, lily, jasmine
Base notes: pistachio, vanilla, sandalwood
Nutty green notes open Pistachio Voodoo Child by Iggywoo – less creamy than we are used to from other pistachio fragrances, but fresher, airier and a little unconventional. The pistachio here is not sweet or gourmand, but rather natural and slightly tart. Soon, a white flower that can certainly be described as opulent enters the olfactory stage: the lily. Lush, beguiling and powerful, it is accompanied by creamy jasmine, which is no less present and lends the composition a sensual floral richness. Only at the end do the two floral graces give way to calmer, softer notes: lovely, warm vanilla and velvety sandalwood bring the fragrance to a gentle and cozy close.
Pistachio Voodoo Child is an unusual pistachio fragrance that deliberately sets itself apart from the often sweet, gourmand interpretations. Instead of creamy dessert associations, it is greener, more floral and significantly more elegant. The combination of nutty freshness and opulent white flowers lends the composition an exciting dynamic that flows into a soft, warm base. A fragrance for anyone who wants to experience pistachio in a different way. Unisex wearable, with a certain presence, but never overloaded. Particularly beautiful in the transitional seasons or on cooler days.
