One of my favorite fragrance houses has launched a new perfume: Thomas de Monaco presents Luisant Haze, a neo-gourmand, i.e. a fragrance that moves far away from the classic, opulent, dessert-like gourmand paths and instead combines sweet notes with surprising accents – with aquatic, woody, fresh or even molecular facets. Tension is created here through the use of contrasts, through the combination of opposing accords that create a harmonious overall picture.
Thomas de Monaco in the fragrance diary
The Thomas de Monaco brand first appeared on this fragrance blog around five years ago. Since then, I have regularly informed you about the label’s new products and presented numerous creations. After the last three fragrances were assigned to the silver Artist Collection, Luisant Haze is once again part of the classic Gold Collection.
- Raw Gold by Thomas de Monaco and Divine Perversion by Hedonik – Sensual Autumn
- Grand Beau and Eau Coeur by Thomas de Monaco – limited edition fragrance art.
- Sol Salgado and Fuego Futuro by Thomas de Monaco – Sun and fire
- Die neue Artist Collection von Thomas de Monaco: Flowers for Future
- Jade Amour und Fleur Danger von Thomas de Monaco – von futuristischen und gefährlichen Blüten
Luisant Haze – Like a fragrant veil
Perfumer Karine Chevallier was responsible for the creative work on the Luisant Haze fragrance, which revolves around an “iridescent weightlessness that captures everything in fragments of light”. That doesn’t sound very tangible at first and the fragrance name Luisant Haze fits in with this: a combination of the French adjective luisant – meaning shimmering and shining – and the English word haze – meaning mist, haze or veil.
Fragrance notes: Wild strawberry, pink pepper, cardamom, tuberose, sugar, saffron, white musk, ambergris, tonka bean.
Right from the start, Luisant Haze combines notes of fruity-sweet wild strawberries with sparkling pepper and spicy, leathery saffron notes, accompanied by a light-flooded radiance that seems molecular and weightless. The tuberose adds creamy floral accents. It is not overly dominant, but blends beautifully with the berry-spicy nuances. Roasted sugar brings gourmand facets and soft cotton candy moments into play before the creation ends with powdery, crystalline and cozy, soft notes.
An airy, transparent and radiant mix of delicious strawberries, warm spices, creamy flowers and fine gourmand accents that is enveloping and beautiful. Despite its molecular lightness, the perfume has a strong presence and is just as long-lasting. Less intended for midsummer temperatures, it is more of a creation that you will want to snuggle up to in the cooler months of the year. Perfect for fans of strawberries in fragrances and for all those who prefer sweet, fruity and gourmand-spicy compositions. Very elegant, modern and a perfume with which Thomas de Monaco once again remains true to himself.
