Swimming Pool and Santal Beauty by BIBBI Parfum – Green and aromatic

Swimming Pool and Santal Beauty are the last two fragrances from BIBBI Parfum that I would like to introduce to you today, after having already presented you all eight other eaux de parfum and the label itself last week. Below you will find links to all my previous posts:

BIBBI Perfume - Swimming Pool

Swimming pool – Into the cool water

The press release for Swimming Pool once again provides only vague information about the source of inspiration, and we are not told whether it is a real location that the eau de parfum is supposed to recreate olfactorily in some form or whether it is based on a meditation. A quick search on the subject reveals a number of thermal springs in Italy. The best known is certainly the Terme di Saturnia in Tuscany, with numerous smaller, limestone pools filled with bright blue water at a temperature of around 38 °C. Perhaps this place is the inspiration for Swimming Pool or another of the many thermal springs in Italy.

Somewhere in the south of Italy there is a natural swimming pool that is said to have healing powers, surrounded by herbs and with a wonderful basil scent in the water and air. When swimming in this pool, you completely forget time and space. The water forces you to live through the darkest hours and the brightest moments of your life. After a swim in the pool, you’ll be forever changed with an intense basil scent that will stay on your skin forever.

Perfumer Jérôme Epinette was creative and combined the ingredients ginger, basil, peppermint, eucalyptus, geranium, ambroxan, grass and woods to create a fragrance based on the Italian healing spring.

BIBBI Perfume - Swimming Pool

Swimming Pool is green, fresh and aromatic right from the start, making it a creation that calls for summer in the most wonderful way. Basil and mint, freshly picked and wonderfully authentic, define the opening, accompanied by citrusy ginger spiciness and the wonderfully cool notes of eucalyptus. The green nuances of cut grass, light, clean woods and the sweet floral mint freshness of geranium also emphasize these facets of Swimming Pool, which – in my eyes – fortunately has nothing to do with the azure blue aquatic accents of a real swimming pool.

As you know, aquatics don’t have it that easy with me. But this creation convinces me through and through. Perfect for anyone who loves green, refreshing and cool herbal fragrances and is still looking for a transparent, summery companion for everyday and office use for the current season. 💦

Santal Beauty – Sandal Beauty

And that brings us to the last fragrance from BIBBI Parfum, Santal Beauty. It is probably a sandalwood fragrance, if the name is to be believed. The ingredients are Lemon, saffron, violet, magnolia, bamboo, sandalwood, woods and Ambergris and I am curious to see how the perfumer Jérôme Epinette brings these notes together, which on the one hand seem rather powdery-light and greenish-fresh, but on the other hand can be characterized by a great warmth, spice and depth. Santal Beauty revolves around an encounter with a mysterious woman in the Paris metro, which is said to have taken place in 2010.

BIBBI Perfume - Santal Beauty

The opening of Santal Beauty by BIBBI Parfum is green, woody and wonderfully Asian thanks to the beautiful, airy nuances of bamboo combined with powdery violet and the bright, aquatic floral notes of magnolia. The lemon lends the composition a tangy freshness, accentuated by leathery, spicy saffron. The sandalwood gradually brings warmth to the creation, underlines the powdery-creamy facets of the violet and rounds off Santal Beauty in a wonderful way.

A calm and quiet fragrance with a great, refreshingly green and meditative bamboo opening, reminiscent of a Japanese garden, and a delicate finish characterized by sandalwood warmth and powdery notes, which is transparent, lucid and absolutely suitable for everyday and office use. In my opinion, it is more suitable for warmer days. A pleasant, Asian-inspired and summery eau de parfum that should put a smile on the face of more than just bamboo lovers. 💚
