The collection of Kinetic Perfumes – The energy of fragrances [+ giveaway].

A few weeks ago, the collection of Kinetic Perfumes arrived at Aus Liebe zum Duft and a Discovery Set also promptly found its way to me at the Baltic Sea, together with the happy news that I may also give away something parallel to my reviews of the fragrances. Many thanks for this to Kris Marciniak, the founder of the brand, who kindly provided us with the prizes. I would like to start with a small introduction of Kinetic Perfumes, to then present you a first fragrance of the label. As always, at the very end of this post you will find the raffle. ✨

Kinetic Perfumes fragrances

Made in Spain – Kinetic Perfumes

Seven fragrances comprise the collection of the brand, whose fragrances are manufactured in Spain. I have already told you the name of the founder of the label. Originally from Poland, Kris Marciniak fulfilled his dream of “translating memories and emotions into fragrances” with his own niche fragrance house. In naming the company, Marciniak was inspired by physics, because kinetics is the science of motion.

At the same time, for Kinetic Perfumes movement also means energy, and the brand views this not only in purely physical terms, but in an all-encompassing, multidimensional and holistic way. “The scent we carry within us and the movement of its molecules around us are a form of kinetic energy. Much like music, painting, or sculpture, scents create and exude an energy that stimulates and enlivens the celebration of emotion.”

The brand’s fragrances are made in Spain – as mentioned above – by Carbonnel S.A., a family-run perfume and fragrance manufacturer based in Barcelona that has been around since the mid-1920s. The name of the company may seem familiar to niche fragrance fans, because the well-known perfumer Christian Carbonnel is not only a descendant of the company’s founder Mauricio Carbonnel, but is also part of the company’s management team.

Kinetic Perfumes - Verdigris

Verdigris – Kinetic Perfumes

The name Verdigris is the name for the copper salts of acetic acid, which have a bluish-green color. Especially on copper and brass, verdigris forms as a patina whose colouration varies from greenish to bluish to greyish. In art, Verdigris was used as a popular pigment from antiquity until the 20th century, partly because an intense green was difficult to produce for a long time. However, the colour fastness of Verdigris left much to be desired, which is why other pigments were finally resorted to – fortunately, it must be said, because the copper salts are toxic.

Kinetic Perfumes interprets the special colour of Verdigris in a maritime-Mediterranean way. It reminds the brand of the noble “green interspersed with gray particles, (…) of salt that the ocean wind puts on the roofs of Mediterranean houses.” This is said to be a special variant of a marine fragrance: “Is it possible to have a sea without blue? Verdigris plays the maritime on a whole new level, moving towards the land. And meets at the intersection of sky, air and sun.”

Kinetic Perfumes - Verdigris

Christian Carbonnel created the fragrance Verdigris from the ingredients orange, lemon, bergamot, jasmine, lime, maritime notes, freesia, coriander, cyclamen, nutmeg, violet, rose, reseda, amber, patchouli, cedarwood, musk and oakmoss.

Kinetic Perfumes looks to the sea

Light, lucid and intensely citrusy, Verdigris opens the fragrance. The colourful basket of hesperides that determines the opening of the eau de parfum can already be read in the fragrance notes. Fruity, tangy and sparkling, the creation reveals from the start a sunny, summery and lively atmosphere that promises a good mood. The colouration alternates between a cheerful lemon yellow and a bright lime green at the start, soon underpinned by the creamy facets of the jasmine, which, however, presents itself in a very restrained manner. Dry, ozonic and subtly salty, a wave of marine nuances laps at the olfactory basket full of hesperides.

With it, the creation gradually becomes more greenish and herbaceous. Softly crisp and aquatically tinged cyclamen combines with the floral aquatic facets of freesia. Coriander brings a pinch of green soapiness into play, quite delicately and rather subtly. The citrus gradually retreats into the background, but remains perceptible, giving way to spicy-lovely floral nuances. Violet, reseda and rose provide a powdery sweetness into which gradually flow the warm and woody creamy notes of amber, patchouli and cedar.

Kinetic Perfumes - Verdigris

Verdigris by Kinetic Perfumes is a greenish-fresh and aquatic-inspired fragrance that combines a lush top note of citrus with maritime-ozonic saltiness, lovely powdery florals and greenish-herbaceous nuances. Transparent, airy and thoroughly Mediterranean in feel, the eau de parfum fits perfectly for me in the warmer months of the year, in which it can be worn for all occasions. It is, in my eyes, an uncomplicated and pleasant unisex fragrance companion with a medium presence and durability of an equally kind that should please all who prefer fresh, greenish and citrusy perfumes. 💚
