Two fragrances by Ojar are taking center stage today: Kashmir Print and Ever Lit. The niche fragrance house from Oman has been available at Aus Liebe zum Duft since 2023, and I have already introduced you to some of its creations on the blog here and here. What makes Ojar so special is the combination of the highest quality raw materials and the possibility of layering the fragrances with each other – for individual, ever-changing fragrance experiences.
The brand’s portfolio is divided into six collections, each dedicated to a specific ingredient: Rose, Oud, Frankincense, Honey, Sandalwood and Musk. Each line has its own world of color: the Honey Collection shines in gold, the Sandalwood Collection in deep green, the Rose Collection in dark red, the Oud Collection in mysterious dark blue and the Musk Collection in warm amber.
Kashmir Print – As soft as wool
The very name Kashmir Print brings to mind fine fabrics, the cozy softness of cashmere wool that feels like a second skin. Ojar also follows this association olfactorily: white musk meets patchouli, ambergris and iris. Mandarin, freesia, lily of the valley, rose and pink pepper accompany the composition and combine to create a fragrance that is gentle, elegant and calming. Perfumer Jordi Fernández is responsible for the composition – a Catalan-born, self-taught perfumer who has been working for leading international fragrance company Givaudan since 2010.
Kashmir Print by Ojar opens with a spicy, peppery pungency, which is soon joined by the airy, floral aquatic nuances of freesia and magnolia. Accompanied by fresh rose and powdery iris, they soothe the sharp opening of the eau de parfum and provide soothing, soft and creamy facets that are underscored by the smooth and delicately smoky accents of light patchouli and the velvety, woody, wildly leathery warmth of ambergris. In the finish, delicate, crystalline musk lends additional comfort and picks up on the powdery nuances of iris once again.
Kashmir Print is spicy, peppery, floral and creamy and gradually turns into a subtly oriental, fresh and clean musky fragrance that I really like. Very elegant and modern, incredibly balanced and harmoniously composed, Kashmir Print is a pleasant and sociable companion for any occasion in the cooler season. A fragrance that radiates a sense of security, enveloping you like a cozy shawl made of the finest cashmere wool – transparent, warm and wonderfully cozy.
Ever Lit – Between spray and embers
Ever Lit – the eternal glow that never goes out. The fragrance is intended to evoke the special light over the mountains of Oman: the majestic rock faces of the Hajar Mountains, which border the Gulf of Oman. The French-Spanish perfumer Gaël Montero was responsible for the creative realization of the extrait de parfum, for which he combined the ingredients pink pepper, apple, cypress, sandalwood, maritime notes, labdanum (cistus), woods, benzoin resin and frankincense. Montero has been a senior perfumer at fragrance manufacturer Givaudan for many years. He has a long-standing collaboration with Jordi Fernández, the perfumer of Kashmir Print, within Givaudan.
Ever Lit opens fresh, cool and fruity with the dry spiciness of pink pepper and tangy green apple. The citrus-coniferous woody notes of cypress are just as perceptible as the maritime nuances that lend the composition transparent and pleasant marine facets. Light, fine woods lend the creation a sense of calm and grounding, while incense and benzoin resin provide a harmonious finish with gently smoky and milky-creamy accents.
A balanced, elegant and atmospheric freshie that harmonizes tart-fruity, coniferous-woody and creamy nuances with a fine maritime note. Subtle mineral moments are reminiscent of the Omani Hajar Mountains, while the marine notes reflect the proximity to the Gulf of Oman. A very successful extrait de parfum from Ojar, with a pleasant presence and good longevity – perfect for anyone who prefers elegant, modern freshies that can be worn as versatile all-rounders.
