There are fruity summer fragrances that immediately put you in a good mood and perfectly capture the mood of the season. They are vibrant, radiant and bring a carefree lightness to the skin with their fresh, creamy or gourmand fruitiness. La Playa by Carner Barcelona, Whipped Cherry by Clean Reserve and Orange Crush Extrait by Fugazzi show just how versatile fruity summer fragrances can be – sometimes creamy and tropical, sometimes sweet and seductive, sometimes tangy and citrusy. Three fragrances that bring summer to life olfactorily in all its colorful facets and sunny moments.
La Playa – Carner Barcelona
La Playa by Carner Barcelona promises that beach feeling with a sun-drenched composition of lemon, orange blossom, ylang-ylang, cardamom, coconut, pistachio, vanilla, tonka bean and musk. The press release speaks of the “memory of a relaxed day at the beach: radiant sun, creamy skin and warm sand beneath our feet.” It is this image of a carefree summer’s day, where the sound of the waves sets the rhythm, the air is warm and salty and your gaze is lost in the distance. No rush, no obligations, no appointments – just the interplay of light and shadow over the beach and water. The soothing tranquillity of a place where time is irrelevant.
La Playa opens with creamy coconut and fruity orange blossom with a hint of citrus freshness. Ylang-ylang brings milky, tropical-sweet accents to the composition, creating a very harmonious olfactory image of a South Sea beach with turquoise-blue water against a paradisiacal backdrop. The eau de parfum is transparent and airy – sunny, summery, relaxed and calm. Gentle, nutty nuances gradually creep into the fragrance, delicately green and wonderfully pistachio-creamy, while a crystalline vanilla musk gradually rounds off the creation.
A wonderful summer fragrance with a fine coconut-orange blossom note, accompanied by milky flowers and soft, nutty facets. Unagitated, uncomplicated and incredibly beautiful, La Playa is a fruity, understated tropical fragrance that has a certain presence and good longevity despite its transparency. Perfect for anyone who prefers the combination of orange blossom, coconut and creamy notes and loves rather minimalist creations. A wonderful choice for anyone who appreciates fruity summer fragrances with a tropical flair.
Whipped Cherry – Clean Reserve
Clean Reserve is considered the epitome of minimalist, clear perfume concepts. This makes it all the more exciting that the brand is presenting Whipped Cherry, a fragrance with a gourmand, fruity twist. The composition was created by Jérôme Epinette and combines cherry, pineapple, coconut, orange peel, almond blossom, gourmand notes, mimosa, osmanthus, vanilla, cedarwood, musk and sandalwood. According to the press release, Whipped Cherry is “seductive and irresistible”, an “experience that gives pure pleasure”. One immediately thinks of the sweet temptation of ripe fruit, enveloped in creamy, warm accents and topped with a bright red cherry. A creation between playful fruitiness and subtle elegance, between lightness and pleasure, which captures summer in its sensual, carefree form.
Whipped Cherry has a surprisingly dense presence from the very first moment, yet retains the transparency typical of the brand. On the one hand, we are dealing with an airy and light, softly molecular fragrance, which on the other hand has a certain power, expressiveness and depth from the first sniff. I also find the creation surprisingly dark. Juicy red cherries enter into a seductive melange with spicy, saffron-like notes that are accompanied by crystalline, molecular-creamy accents. Pineapple and orange peel provide a certain lightness, while cedarwood and musk add powdery, fluffy facets.
A fruity, gourmand and creamy-sweet fragrance that for me has echoes of Baccarat Rouge 540 by Maison Francis Kurkdjian – a fruity interpretation with a juicy, ripe cherry on top. What more could you want? Simply delicious – and ideal for anyone who loves intense fruity summer fragrances.
Orange Crush Extrait – Fugazzi
Fugazzi combines olfactory less is more with an extroverted, colorful lightness that immediately catches the eye and radiates a good mood. Bram Niessink’s Dutch brand promises fun, joie de vivre and plenty of carefree moments that feel like little escapes from everyday life. Bram fully lives out his love of synthetic fragrances with his brand and enchants us with light, airy and incredibly modern compositions that are urban, cosmopolitan and unisex. Orange Crush Extrait is the second extrait de parfum in the label’s collection after Angel Dust Extrait – a more intense version of the popular Orange Crush, which already inspired me in my article Goudh, Angel Dust and Orange Crush by Fugazzi – Last, but not least. What’s still missing? The fragrance notes, of course: orange, musk, woods. True to the motto “less is more”.
Orange Crush Extrait starts with a refreshingly tangy and citrusy-cool scent. While I initially perceive sour-tart hesperides and think more of lemon or lime, the creation gradually drifts into more orangey realms. A sunny fruitiness pervades the composition, very light, very airy, molecularly floating. The orange becomes more prominent as the fragrance progresses, enveloping you like a fruity, summery breeze. A delicate, gentle sweetness is inherent in Orange Crush Extrait, accompanied by light, clean woods and the finest musky fluffiness.
With its latest fragrance, the Dutch brand Fugazzi remains true to its line. Minimalist, transparent, innovative and molecule-soft, Orange Crush Extrait is an orange fragrance for all those who love summery light-heartedness and lightness and do not want to do without a certain presence and expressiveness. Ideal for anyone who prefers fruity summer fragrances with clean vibes. Top!
