Blue Banana and Orange Crush by Parfums d’Elmar – The New Exotic Collection

It’s getting tropical and colorful, because today we’re featuring two new creations from Parfums d’Elmar: Blue Banana and Orange Crush. These fragrances are part of the Exotic Collection – a name that couldn’t be more fitting, given exotic ingredients like banana. The colorful bottles, however, aren’t exclusive to this collection. Parfums d’Elmar has always had a penchant for opulent designs and bold colors that impressively underscore the brand’s luxurious character.

Blue Banana – A Versatile Tropical Fruit

Blue Banana is inspired by a very special variety of banana: the Blue Java Banana, which stands out when unripe due to its silvery-blue peel. Inside lies an exceptionally creamy pulp whose aroma reminds many of vanilla ice cream with a subtle hint of banana. It’s no wonder this variety is also nicknamed the Ice Cream Banana. Parfums d’Elmar captures this creamy, exotic quality in Blue Banana and transforms it into a fragrance composition that is as extraordinary as it is elegant.

Top notes: Banana, solar notes, tropical fruits
Middle notes: Saffron, coconut, jasmine
Base notes: Cashmere wood, agarwood (oud), benzoin resin, vanilla, moss

Blue Banana reveals two surprisingly different profiles on the test strip and on the skin. While the fragrance comes across on my skin as rather dark, woody, and distinctly influenced by oud, it unfolds on the test strip as much lighter, creamier, and more gourmand. Here, the eponymous banana, milky coconut, and exotic fruity notes come to the fore much more strongly, lending the composition a wonderfully tropical character.

Precisely because of these distinct differences, I strongly recommend testing Blue Banana on your own skin. Personally, I like the light, creamy version with its soft banana note on the test strip just a little better. On the other hand, those who prefer darker, woody compositions with distinct oud accents are likely to find the scent’s development on my skin more intriguing. As varied as Blue Banana’s development may be, both versions are finely balanced, harmoniously composed, have a moderate sillage, and impress with their good longevity.

Orange Crush – A Fragrant Summer Treat

Not to be confused with Orange Crush by Fugazzi is Orange Crush by Parfums d’Elmar. The fragrance is described as “a sparkling summer cocktail full of energy.” The bottle’s bright orange color alone immediately brings to mind an ice-cold Aperol Spritz. It’s an impression that the accompanying imagery—featuring cocktail glasses, orange slices, and ice cubes – skillfully captures. After all, hardly any other drink epitomizes balmy summer evenings, the Mediterranean way of life, and carefree moments spent in good company quite like this one. Can Orange Crush truly conjure up this sunny mood on the skin?

Top notes: Orange, lime, grapefruit, mandarin
Middle notes: Passion fruit (maracuja), cranberry, strawberry, banana
Base notes: Ambergris, musk

Citrusy, refreshing, cool, and effervescent, Orange Crush delivers exactly the sunny summer moments I’d been hoping for. The composition is wonderfully tart and zesty, yet at the same time infused with dry, powdery-mineral nuances. Subtly, I detect a delicate sweetness that likely comes from fruity notes like banana or strawberry, although I can’t quite pick them out individually. The olfactory ingredients in this Eau de Parfum are too densely and intricately woven together, evoking a very harmonious and well-rounded image of summery refreshment.

Orange Crush is a fruity, zesty citrus fragrance that has everything you need for a summery, sunny creation with a Mediterranean flair. The fragrances from Parfums d’Elmar are characterized not only by their colorful packaging but also by their distinct presence, excellent longevity, and rich composition—because Orange Crush, too, is a far cry from a light, airy, cologne-like scent. Ideal for anyone looking for an expressive summer fragrance that can be worn for any occasion during the warmer months.
