The Atmosphere d’Emotion Collection by Filippo Sorcinelli comprises four fragrances, namely Vento Impetuoso, Vento Forte, Ruah and Brezza Leggera. All four are brand new to our online store, so it’s time for a short round-up of the creations, which are dedicated to the theme of wind and are closely linked to Sorcinelli’s personal spirituality.
Each fragrance is assigned its own biblical quotation. No coincidence: the wind has a special place in Christian symbolism. It appears as an expression of divine power, as a tool or messenger and as an image for the spirit of God, which is invisible and yet moves everything.
Ruah – God’s wind, breath and spirit
The spiritual dimension of the collection is particularly evident in the Ruah fragrance. The name comes from the Hebrew and means wind, breath and spirit – a term that stands for the invisible, living power of God in the Bible. Fittingly, a verse from the Book of Genesis is assigned to Ruah by Filippo Sorcinelli: “And the earth was waste and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the Spirit of God hovered over the face of the waters.” (Genesis 1:2 – Luther Bible 2017)
The verse describes the state of the world before the actual creation. Everything is disorderly, dark and formless. The earth is “desolate and empty”, covered by primordial water. There is still no order, no light, no life. And yet there is already movement in the air: the spirit of God hovering over the waters.
Top notes: patchouli, ambergris, cedarwood

Base notes: lemon, bergamot, maritime notes
Ruah is citrus-fresh and invigorating right from the start. The citrus fruits take over the olfactory helm and combine with an elusive, subtly salty sea breeze. Mineral and ozonic notes resonate in the opening, resulting in a very light and sparkling, yet powerful and clear blend that is modern, almost futuristic. The hesperides remain dominant in the composition for a long time, very authentically realized, before woody-earthy and dark-resinous facets slowly emerge in the further course, which characterize the finish of Ruah from Filippo Sorcinelli.
The first fragrance from the Atmosphere d’Emotion Collection is an idiosyncratic scent that combines citrus fruits with maritime, mineral-ozoneous and woody-earthy accents, resulting in a creation that is transparent, airy and meditative. With a medium presence and exceptional longevity – especially for a citrus fragrance – Ruah by Filippo Sorcinelli is a great companion in the warm season.
Brezza Leggera – The gentle breeze
Within the Atmosphere d’Emotion Collection, Brezza Leggera is dedicated to the quietest form of wind: the gentle breeze. It is a wind that is barely perceptible and yet still present. Fittingly, a verse from the first book of Kings is assigned to the creation: “After the fire came a still, gentle whisper.” (1 Kings 19:12 – Luther Bible 2017)
The passage tells of a moment in which the prophet Elijah recognizes God’s presence not in a storm, earthquake or fire, but in a quiet, barely audible whisper. It is precisely this silence that becomes the real sign here – calm and almost imperceptible.
Top notes: myrrh, musk, labdanum (cistus)
Heart notes: immortelle (Italian immortelle), wormwood
Base notes: pine, bergamot, ozonic notes
Brezza Leggera starts off light, sweet and with elusive facets. The creation is definitely airy and gentle, which is why the name is absolutely apt in this respect. And yet the perfume is not a cool breeze, not a maritime breeze, but rather a metallic fragrance characterized by ozonic notes. The airy facets are accompanied from the outset by subtly smoky-sweet labdanum and resinous myrrh, before clean conifers and aromatic wormwood with tart bergamot join the olfactory mix.
Overall, Brezza Leggera from the Atmosphere d’Emotion Collection by Filippo Sorcinelli is a modern, molecular and striking niche fragrance that should appeal to fans of airy creations. Here, too, the presence is medium, but the durability is very good, which is quite pleasing given the subject matter. I also see Brezza Leggera as being more suitable for the warmer months of the year, when it can be worn for any occasion.
