The young, unconventional fragrance house Maison Matine is expanding its portfolio with a new line: the Night Fever Collection. The brand is adding five new eaux de parfum to its existing collections with the names Shifumi, Un Jour sans Fin, Disco Inferno, Faire le Mur and Bain de Minuit, which add a further, independent facet to the French label’s fragrance universe.
Night Fever Collection – Dance through the night
Following the twelve fragrances in the Origine Collection, Refresh Collection and Voyager Collection, all of which are daytime fragrances, the new line is dedicated to the night. The Night Fever Collection focuses on exciting contrasts: the interplay of light and darkness, desire and security, euphoric intensity and quiet moments.
Five eaux de parfum in 100 ml format unfold this nocturnal narrative. Each creation has its own facets full of depth and its own signature, united by a common idea: Chiaroscuro – the interplay of light and shadow, tension and calm. Sensual, self-confident and multi-layered, these fragrances accompany you through the hours between dusk and dawn, where reality and imagination merge.
Maison Matine in the fragrance diary
The Maison Matine brand has been featured here on the blog several times in recent months and has sweetened our late summer with its colorful and cheerful creations. I have attached my posts for anyone who would like to read them and find out more:
- Maison Matine – Scented rebels with format
- Origine Collection by Maison Matine – Warni Warni, Esprit de Contradiction and Bain de Midi
- Refresh Collection by Maison Matine: Nature Insolente, Poom Poom and Lost in Translation
- Voyager Collection by Maison Matine: Tu te Calmes, Arashi no Umi and Ukhu Pacha
Un Jour sans Fin – Endless fragrance pleasure
Ein Tag ohne Ende is the German translation of Un Jour sans Fin and there is much to suggest that this creation tells the night of partying from an unusual perspective. The press release tells us the following: “At dawn, the memory of an eventful night fades. Un Jour sans Fin offers a gentle and reassuring return to oneself.” So the big party is over. What remains are thoughts of the night’s events, music, dancing and good humor.
Why I chose this fragrance first – even though I’m usually a big fan of the chronological approach – is clear from the ingredients it contains: Pistachio, orange blossom, incense, tonka bean, ambrette, woods, vanilla and ambergris. It just sounds so delicious that my mouth is watering just reading it.
The eau de parfum from Maison Matine’s Night Fever Collection was created by French perfumer Marine Mercé, who studied chemistry at the ISIPCA in Versailles before learning the perfume trade and now works for Firmenich. She was already responsible for the creation of Ukhu Pacha from the Voyager Collection for Maison Matine. In addition to Un Jour sans Fin, she is also responsible for Disco Inferno and Shifumi in the new line.
What does Un Jour sans Fin by Maison Matine smell like?
In the opening of Un Jour sans Fin, the warm scent of roasted pistachios meets spicy, vanilla tonka bean with subtle hay accents and creamy, fruity orange blossom. Delicate wisps of incense provide a fine, smoky coolness that is underlined by powdery ambrette and dark vanilla spice. Light woods merge with velvety warm ambergris as the fragrance progresses, creating a wonderfully cozy framework for this gourmand-creamy pistachio composition that is so soft and delicious.
When is the best time to wear Un Jour sans Fin?
Un Jour sans Fin from the Night Fever Collection by Maison Matine is a great pistachio gourmand with a tonka bean and orange blossom finish that smells so delicate, so creamy and heavenly that you would love to wear it at any time of day or night. Ideal for anyone who likes pistachio and tonka bean in fragrances and prefers warm, cozy and spicy gourmands. Personally, I see the composition as more suitable for the cooler months of the year. I would wear the eau de parfum in the office and in my free time as well as in the evening, when going out or chilling on the sofa. Simply wonderful and a great start to this new line from Maison Matine.
