In the last part of our series on the young fragrance house IGGYWOO, we will focus on the two eaux de parfum Love Extreme and Night Narcotic, with which I would also like to conclude my series of articles. Last week, we not only learned a lot about the founder and perfumer Richard Saint-Ford, but also got to know four colorful, imaginative and wonderfully composed creations that are so diverse and multifaceted that they are simply fun.
Here are my previous articles on IGGYWOO. They provide a good overview of the brand, its history and the creative influences behind it. In the interview, Richard Saint-Ford also talks about his approach to fragrances, the development process behind his creations and the inspiration for his bestseller Cashmere Show Pony.

Love Extreme – Cherry meets clove
One component of Love Extreme is clove, which was combined in the creation with cherry, pink pepper, blackcurrant, patchouli, rose, sandalwood, ambergris, eaglewood (oud), vanilla, violet and incense. The eau de parfum is a tribute to Saint-Ford’s grandmother, who treated and soothed emerging toothaches with cloves in his youth. For perfumer Richard Saint-Ford, the dried buds of the clove tree, which belongs to the myrtle family, are a special symbol of love, devotion and care – Love Extreme.
Clove always reminds me a little of the dentist and this association is certainly not wrong, because – as we have just learned – the perfumer’s love of clove also has dental origins. The spicy clove is clearly perceptible on my skin, not at all unpleasant, but well-dosed and gentle. Fruity-sweet cherry notes and a delicate freshness of rose accompany it, creating a cozy atmosphere and ensuring that the clove remains humble. The violet brings a subtle powderiness that is nuanced by gently smoky oud. A pinch of pepper spiciness and a hint of vanilla sweetness round off the composition beautifully.
Love Extreme really is a great, finely balanced and gentle spice fragrance that revolves around an ingredient that I personally don’t find very easy. Clove can quickly become sharp, pungent and too much. What’s more, the ingredient is not a crowdpleaser, I would argue. But Richard Saint-Ford proves that even a difficult ingredient can be beautifully realized and very harmoniously integrated into a composition. I think this clove is great. Perfect for anyone who prefers spicy, airy and transparent creations with a powdery, molecular lightness and is looking for an uncomplicated and pleasant fragrance companion for any occasion.
Night Narcotic – Nightlife in fragrance form
Life is a party and Night Narcotic is the fragrance to go with it. The eau de parfum is inspired by indulgent nights out in London and Los Angeles, intoxicating and seductive. Savoring the nightlife and soaking up the special atmosphere. Music, bass, city lights – Night Narcotic combines all this and much more with the help of the ingredients blood orange, bergamot, coriander, jasmine, tobacco, rose, palo santo, eaglewood (oud), labdanum (cistus), Texas cedarwood and patchouli.
Refreshing and sparkling, Night Narcotic starts quite differently than I would have expected. But what exactly did I have in mind? Probably something opulent, sweet and gourmand. A fragrance full of vice, loud and pleasurable. In fact, this eau de parfum by IGGYWOO is the complete opposite – which could perhaps be due to the fact that I haven’t partied all night in London and Los Angeles yet. Night Narcotic is airy, transparent and citrusy, with light, smoky-woody notes. Light cedar wood brings clear, almost clean woody notes into play, gradually joined by fresh rose nuances. The finish is soft, soapy, powdery and woody, almost calm and introverted.
I can’t smell the intoxicating nightlife or enjoyable parties in Night Narcotic. And that’s exactly what makes the fragrance so exciting for me. It is bright, soft, citrusy-woody, with smoky undertones and floral lightness. Uncomplicated, balanced and very wearable – for almost every occasion and season. Only in the depths of winter do I not really see the creation. For me, it is not a fragrance for the night, but one for the morning after. Clear, quiet and completely at home.
