Radical Softness and Sel à Vie by Fascent – Soft summer vibes

The second part of the new Fascent brand is about the two fragrances Radical Softness and Sel à Vie. Last week, in Fascent – The new brand at Aus Liebe zum Duft, I introduced you to the label itself and also presented the first eau de parfum Milky No Way – a wonderful, milky-nutty composition with a tonka bean finish. Beautiful to fall in love with! That’s why I’m really looking forward to today’s two protagonists and why I’m diving straight into the fragrance.

Radical Softness – It couldn’t be softer

With an eau de parfum called Radical Softness, I naturally expect exactly that: fluffy softness, a cozy hygge feeling at its finest, clouds of musk, ambroxan comfort. I want to be wrapped in absorbent cotton, caressed, nurtured and cared for, as if bedded on down and enveloped in cashmere. Can Fascent’s fragrance fulfill these high expectations?

Perfumer Alexandre Freile works for Firmenich and lives and works in Singapore. He not only loves discovering foreign countries while traveling, but also wants to make people a little happier, the day a little brighter and the world a little better with his creations. Radical Softness could give a first taste of how well he can turn this wish into reality. He has also penned two other fragrances, Sel à Vie and Crème Brûlante.

Top notes: pink pepper, white pepper
Heart notes: cyclamen, frangipani
Base notes: ambroxan, white musk

Testing Radical Softness by Fascent

Sweet, soft musky notes open Radical Softness, accompanied by the milky, slightly exotic nuances of frangipani and the aquatic floral tartness of cyclamen. The pepper adds a sparkling freshness and subtly spicy accents to the creation. As a result, the composition does not slip into a beguiling heaviness, but remains clear, airy and transparent. The blossoms blend wonderfully into the olfactory structure, do not dominate but, in combination with spices, musk and the clearly perceptible, fluffy notes of ambroxan, create a very authentic and atmospheric image of a skin fragrance.

Radical Softness is by no means an overpowering musk scent, but a well-dosed and finely balanced mix of creamy, milky florals, cozy ambrox’n’musk facets and a pinch of pepper for clarity and freshness. A restrained and minimalist skin fragrance with a light to medium presence and just as long-lasting. For those who prefer quiet, calm and skintight creations with clean, milky vibes, Radical Softness by Fascent is the perfect choice.

Sel à Vie – Sun and salt in the heart

Right now, when the wind is blowing coldly across the beach on the Baltic Sea and the sea seems more gray than inviting, the longing for sun, salt and lightness is growing. Just the right time for Sel à Vie by Fascent. A fragrance like a warm summer’s day by the sea: salty water in your hair, sun-warmed skin, that carefree feeling between arriving and letting go. Bright, open and full of energy.

Can Sel à Vie be my little personal escape from winter? Remind me how light and carefree life is in summer, when everything smells and tastes of sun and sea? Perfumer Alexandre Freile has once again been at work here and hopefully manages to inspire me once again with this fragrance.

Top notes: mandarin, orange
Heart notes: ylang-ylang, jasmine, tiare flower
Base notes: fleur de sel (sea salt), driftwood, vanilla

Testing Sel à Vie by Fascent

Sel à Vie is present from the very beginning, summery and fruity-floral. Tiaré blossom, ylang-ylang and jasmine combine to create a lush, tropical floral bouquet that is refreshed by fruity, tart hesperide nuances. The marine associations here are not created by classic maritime notes. In Sel à Vie, fleur de sel is used to create a fine, crystalline saltiness in the eau de parfum. In combination with the warm, creamy floral facets, this creates a melange that is reminiscent of skin on which seawater has dried in the sun. Dry, subtle woods and a pinch of vanilla round off the fragrance harmoniously and harmoniously.

Fascent’s eau de parfum is more summery, sunnier and, compared to the two candidates tested so far, more lush, present and powerful. The florals are definitely at full throttle in the creation, but always in balanced doses. If you like floral creations with tiare and ylang-ylang and also like salty accents in fragrances, you should put this composition on your must-try list. Sunny, summery and with clear vacation vibes, Sel à Vie by Fascent is an ideal composition for the warmer season that is perfect for leisure time, everyday life, warm summer evenings and, of course, vacations.
