Now we up here on the Baltic coast are glad to have got rid of the frosty coat of ice that had us in its grip for a whole 6 weeks – including permanent snow, a thick layer of ice and a cold easterly wind that turned every walk into an event. As soon as the snow has gone and the temperatures climb into the single to double-digit plus range, I receive various new launches on the subject of snow. In addition to the recently launched Extrait de Parfum Yuma by Pernoire, which I would like to introduce to you soon, Isola Snow by Roja Parfums has also been available in the online store since today. Reason enough to present this latest creation from the British cult label to you today.
Isola Snow – A fragrance from frosty heights
Isola Snow is part of the Isola Collection from London-based label Roja Parfums, a line that transports us to foreign places, dreamy beaches and turquoise seas. We can glide towards the sunset on a luxurious private yacht with Isola Blu or let the sun shine on our stomachs on a white sandy beach with Isola Sol.
Isola Verde takes us to an island full of lush flowers and tropical fruits. By contrast, the fragrance Oceania, which also belongs to the same dream destination line, does without the addition of Isola. The maritime-inspired perfume brings the finest marine notes to the skin – sunny, summery and evoking acute vacation vibes.
These “four olfactory postcards from the most luxurious places in the world” are now joined by Isola Snow, a completely different new launch. No tropical island feeling, but a frosty, fresh winter wonderland – “a fragrance that captures the breath of the mountains and leads the mind to new, clear horizons.” Behind the composition is the young perfumer Antoine Cotton.
Exactly which luxury winter resort Isola Snow is dedicated to remains a secret. There are quite a few around the world. In the Alps, for example, you can enjoy the snow in the Swiss resorts of St. Moritz, Zermatt or Gstaad, as well as in Lech in Austria or Courchevel in France. In the USA, Aspen and Vail are probably the best known, but luxury-loving travelers can also get their money’s worth in Canada, Iceland, New Zealand or Japan.
Isola Snow by Roja Parfums transports us to the majestic world of crystalline peaks, where icy clarity meets dynamic elegance. Inspired by magnificent panoramas and unattainable mountain ranges, this fragrance creation embodies the essence of timeless winter. Feel the pure freshness of snow-covered landscapes, the silence of sparkling ice crystals and the powerful purity of nature. Isola Snow is an olfactory homage to the magic of frosty heights.
Top notes: bergamot, hedione, peppermint
Heart notes: pear, lily of the valley, rose, aldehydes, cardamom, rhubarb
Base notes: cypress, iris, rosewood, cashmeran, ambergris, sandalwood, ambroxan, musk
Citrus-fresh and cool, Isola Snow opens with lively green mint, juicy pear and tart bergamot, infused with a crystalline-molecular, elusive coolness. Very light, airy and shimmering, the perfume is reminiscent of the air on an icy winter morning, when the sun slowly rises above the treetops and bathes the freshly fallen snow in a glittering sea of white. Lily of the valley brings gentle aquatic nuances to the composition, which are accompanied by clear rose, ozonic-cool, aldehydic facets and fruity-tart rhubarb. The base is as light and airy as powder snow. The cotton-soft nuances of cashmeran and ambroxan meet citrusy-clean coniferous wood, powdery-crystalline musk and creamy iris.
Isola Snow by Roja Parfums is a clear, airy fresh fragrance that combines mint, hesperides and light flowers with transparent woods, musk and molecular facets. The association of snow-covered landscapes and clear mountain air is wonderfully realized here – cool, radiant and with an almost ethereal purity. For me, the composition suits spring and summer particularly well. Its presence and longevity are solid, yet always elegant and well-balanced.
