Bold Blend by Penhaligon’s – The new one from the Potions & Remedies Collection

One of my favorite fragrance houses spoils us with a new scent. Bold Blend extends the wonderful Potions & Remedies Collection from Penhaligon’s, which is olfactorily inspired by potions and remedies and visually inspired by old apothecary jars. Nostalgic and modern at the same time, but always with that typical Penhaligon’s attitude that we all love so much – a little eccentric, with a wink and beautifully British.

Potions & Remedies Collection – Penhaligon’s miracle elixirs

The year before last, I introduced you to the first five creations in the Potions & Remedies Collection in two posts – Potions & Remedies – The new collection from Penhaligon’s and Liquid Love, A Balm of Calm and Eau de Audacity from Penhaligon’s. Vra Vra Vroom, A Kiss of Bliss, Liquid Love, A Balm of Calm and Eau de Audacity not only have names that immediately put you in a good mood, but are also presented in wonderfully nostalgic bottles.

Their design is reminiscent of historical billboards and Victorian elixir bottles: ornamental lettering, several combined fonts and a lovingly playful layout make the bottles look like mysterious essences from an old pharmacy.

Each creation is dedicated to a specific theme: Vra Vra Vroom is intended to lend vitality and energy, while A Kiss of Bliss is a kind of feel-good fragrance for a good mood. Liquid Love is – as the name suggests – a love potion designed to ignite passion, Balm of Calm conveys calm and relaxation and Eau de Audacity boosts self-confidence.

Bold Blend – A dash of fortitude

The latest addition, Bold Blend, follows on seamlessly from the previous collection and not only comes in a beautiful dark gray shade, but also promises increased steadfastness, determination and courage. Bold Blend thus goes side by side with Eau de Audacity, which deals with a similar theme, only in a completely different way.

Because Bold Blend by Penhaligon’s is a fragrance “that inspires you to overcome boundaries and move forward with a clear vision. Powerful and refreshing at the same time, it is the companion of all those who go their own way undeterred.” In the spirit of the Potions & Remedies Collection, Bold Blend is also a kind of olfactory encouragement.

Top notes: peppermint, black pepper
Heart notes: violet leaves, clary sage
Base notes: palo santo, cypress, nagarmotha

Testing Bold Blend by Penhaligon’s

Bold Blend starts off cool, clear and dry. Greenish, aromatic mint freshness – without toothpaste vibes – meets the tingling spiciness of pepper. The violet leaves pick up on precisely these notes, emphasizing them and adding a fine, powdery, almost creamy component, while the clary sage intensifies the herbaceous-green nuances and brings lavender-like facets to the composition. These in turn emphasize the freshness and clarity of the fragrance, resulting in a very coherent, round and harmonious blend. Palo Santo then enters the fragrance. Its sweet, warm, gently smoky and creamy accents lend the creation calm, meditative moments and a delicate, smoky depth. Gradually, coniferous-clean and subtly earthy notes of cypress and nagarmotha are added, rounding off the fragrance beautifully.

Bold Blend by Penhaligon’s makes the hearts of all those who prefer minty-spicy, dry-woody and creamy-powdery fragrances beat faster. Initially cool and fresh, later warm and comforting, the eau de parfum is an elegant and modern contemporary that can be worn in any season and on any occasion. Absolutely unisex, it is a composition that blends confidently and effortlessly into any fragrance wardrobe.
