Soleil Tonka and Contre ta Peau by Chambre52 – Tonka Bean & Orange Blossom

And today we continue with Soleil Tonka and Contre ta Peau by Chambre52, the young niche fragrance label that I already published a first review of here yesterday. Contrary to the current weather conditions, today is likely to be sunny and summery, as Soleil Tonka brings us tropical beaches and Contre ta Peau lives from the incomparable scent of radiant orange blossoms. So let’s forget the dreary gray and cold outside for a moment and immerse ourselves in the olfactory universe of Chambre52.

Soleil Tonka by Chambre52 - Flacon with coconut, tonka bean, ambergris, cardamom and sea salt against a modern, gray background with text description.

Soleil Tonka – summer, sun, tonka cream

I am particularly looking forward to this creation, because the name of the eau de parfum alone brings a smile to my face: Soleil Tonka – it sounds so wonderfully warm, like a vacation, like sweet idleness. And it is precisely these vibes that the fragrance is intended to convey, as the perfumer of the composition reveals:

“It was a fascinating creative challenge to process this tonka-infused coconut note and translate it into the elegant and sophisticated codes of niche perfumery. A fragrance that promises pure pleasure, with exotic images of sand in the hair and sea spray on the skin, which we have refined with an overdose of Ambroxan.” – Jean-Christophe Hérault

Perfumer Jean-Christophe Hérault has already named a few fragrance notes. Tonka bean and coconut are joined in Soleil Tonka by Chambre52 by the ingredients ambergris, fleur de sel (sea salt), mate, vanilla, benzoin resin and labdanum (cistus).

How much summer is in Soleil Tonka?

Soleil Tonka is full of sunshine. Creamy coconut meets the greenish-vanilla notes of tonka bean and the soft, flowing facets of mate tea in the opening. Delicate salt crystals create a subtle, very natural marine association. The overall effect of the eau de parfum is airy, transparent and warm, as if a gentle breeze is blowing through it. Ambergris enhances the golden, light-flooded facets, while benzoin resin and labdanum provide a creamy, soft and slightly smoky rounding.

When is the best time to wear Soleil Tonka by Chambre52?

Soleil Tonka by Chambre52 is a soft, comforting and transparent beach fragrance that makes me want to go on vacation. A beautiful and very harmoniously composed blend of creamy, milky coconut, greenish, spicy tonka bean and exciting fleur-de-sel chords on a smooth, soft base. Modern, elegant and wonderfully carefree, the composition is perfect for the warmer months of the year and can be worn for any occasion. I would classify the presence as light to medium, the durability is good. Who has already tested this beautiful eau de parfum?

Contre ta Peau – A summer night’s dream in bloom

Contre ta Peau is dedicated to the fragrance of Parisian women “who love orange blossom and its radiant floral scent”. And so it comes as no surprise that perfumer Caroline Dumur places orange blossom at the heart of the fragrance, accompanied by pink pepper, neroli, aniseed, petitgrain, heliotrope, animalic notes, musk and vanilla. “I have combined it with sensual vanilla to create a fragrance that gives pure pleasure and leaves an irresistible aftertaste.”

What does Contre ta Peau smell like?

Contre ta Peau has a lively and cheerful start to the fragrance: Neroli, petitgrain and orange blossom combine to create a sensual, beguiling melange that is given exciting accents by fine pepper. The aniseed provides a gentle coolness that wafts through the composition like a soft breeze, while powdery, clean and creamy earthy nuances slowly come to the fore. They combine with the flowers to create a cozy, comforting fragrance reminiscent of warm skin that is simply stunning.

Is Contre ta Peau a fragrance for every day?

Whenever you are in the mood for orange blossom, for floral-powdery skin fragrances with a spicy twist, Contre ta Peau could be the perfect companion. The unisex perfume is definitely suitable for everyday wear and the office. However, I see the composition as more suitable for warmer days in spring, summer and fall. For cold, gray and frosty winter weather, there are certainly more suitable autumn and winter fragrances. I would classify the presence as medium, the longevity is good. Perfect for all fans of orange blossom and summery, fruity floral fragrances with a skunky vibe. Beautiful!
