Bain de Minuit and Faire le Mur by Maison Matine – Night Fever Collection Part II

After presenting you with the hard facts about the new Night Fever Collection from Maison Matine and a first creation Un Jour sans Fin here on the blog the day before yesterday, the next two creations Bain de Minuit and Faire le Mur follow today. Both take up the theme of night, but set completely different accents and moods.

Bain de Minuit – Bath at midnight

With Bain de Minuit, Maison Matine picks up on a theme that we have already seen in the fragrance Bain de Midi from the Origine Collection. While Bain de Midi combines sunny beach notes and summery surf moments, Bain de Minuit takes us into the dead of night. As we have known at least since the American shark shocker “Jaws”, a bath at the witching hour can end well or not. However, as Maison Matine’s creation from the Night Fever Collection is a fragrance that revolves around a night out, a good mood and a party atmosphere, our Bain de Minuit is likely to have a positive outcome.

In addition to Bain de Minuit, perfumer Bérénice Watteau was also responsible for the two eau de parfum Tu te Calmes and Arashi No Umi from the Voyager Collection. Originally from the north of France, she grew up in Paris, where she first studied chemistry at the Université Pierre et Marie Curie before training as a perfumer at the famous ISIPCA. After a stopover at Puig in Barcelona, she moved to Firmenich, where she still works today. For the midnight bath Bain de Minuit, Bérénice Watteau combined the ingredients cherry, aquatic notes, strawberry, tiare blossom, jasmine, gourmand notes, cashmere wood, leather and vanilla.

What does Bain de Minuit by Maison Matine smell like?

Bain de Minuit is an airy, cheerful, fruity blend of delicious cherry, sweet strawberry and aquatic facets. Creamy tiare blossom and jasmine bring tropical-lucid and milky-floral nuances to the composition, emphasizing the sunny lightness of the fragrance. Soft and cozy, it continues: gentle and subtle gourmand notes provide bright, smooth praline accents, accompanied by fluffy, warm cashmere wood and comforting vanilla. The fruity moments of the opening recede somewhat as the composition progresses, giving way to the milky creaminess of flowers, woods and gourmand nuances. For me, the fine aquatic note that evokes freshness and a subtly salty marine mood in Bain de Minuit is consistently perceptible.

Is Bain de Minuit just a fragrance for the night?

Not by a long shot. Bain de Minuit is a bright, optimistic and airy fragrance that combines delicious red fruits with creamy florals, soft woods and subtle gourmand accents with a great aqua finish. Summery, sunny and cheerful, Bain de Minuit by Maison Matine is an eau de parfum that should appeal to anyone who loves cherry and strawberry in fragrances and prefers lovely floral compositions with soft, aquatic undertones. Ideal for the office, everyday life and leisure, but also for going out on a warm summer evening. Great!

Faire le Mur – Let’s overcome borders!

This is exactly what Faire le Mur wants to enable us to do through olfactory means: to break new ground, to overcome boundaries and walls. Yesterday we were afraid, today we prefer to take risks, because nothing ventured, nothing gained. Two perfumers have taken on the Eau de Parfum by Maison Matine: Ilias Ermenidis and Hamid Merati-Kashani. For Faire le Mur, the two perfume artists combined the ingredients orange, laurel, pear, jasmine, lily of the valley, osmanthus, patchouli, musk and woods.

What does Faire le Mur smell like?

The opening of Faire le Mur is fruity and floral. Sparkling oranges meet sweet pears, radiant lily of the valley and the creamy, floral peach accents of osmanthus. The laurel brings dark green, aromatic herbal nuances to the composition with an inherent tart freshness. The individual nuances combine beautifully, merging into a fruity, sweet and floral-green melange. Creamy patchouli, light woods and crystalline musk round off the fragrance at the end.

When is the best time to wear Faire le Mur?

Light, transparent, yet with a good presence and longevity, Faire le Mur is a fruity, floral and fresh fragrance that combines delicious fruits with light woods, creamy flowers and tart herbs, ensuring a good mood throughout. This dynamic, energetic creation from Maison Matine is perfect for the office, everyday wear and leisure. Due to its summery character, I prefer to wear the eau de parfum in the warmer months of the year.
