Anelo by Pernoire: Citrus-fruity elegance for hot days

Some fragrances embody a spirit of departure, wanderlust and adventure. Anelo by Pernoire is just such a creation – inspired by daring seafarers who once set off with the ambitious goal of circumnavigating the globe. Driven by a longing for the unknown, they explored exotic markets and distant shores, encountering tantalizing aromas that filled the air with their scent. Anelo is a tribute to those very moments – the anticipation of setting sail and the invigorating excitement of a new coastline appearing on the horizon.

Pernoire - Anelo

Inspired by adventure, shaped by exotic fruits

The name Anelo is made up of pineapple and pomelo – the two protagonists of this olfactory sea voyage. Combined with mandarin, mango, ginger, magnolia, ambergris, vetiver and Patchouli, Swiss perfumer Andreas Wilhelm has created a fragrance that combines tropical joie de vivre and maritime lightness.

At the same time, the summer fragrance Anelo by Pernoire – together with Melos and Poka – is part of the Odus Collection, a line characterized by exceptional expressiveness and intensity. With a perfume oil concentration of 30% and an overdose of certain fragrance components, the Odus Collection impresses with long-lasting and powerful fragrance compositions that bear Wilhelm’s signature and rely on the highest quality raw materials.

Botanical specialty: the pomelo

One example is the pomelo (Citrus maxima) – the “queen of citrus fruits”. With its impressive dimensions – individual fruits can be larger than a child’s head and weigh up to two kilograms – it looks almost exotic and majestic at the same time. It originates from South East Asia, where it has been cultivated for centuries and is considered a symbol of prosperity and happiness.

Compass and pomelo with anelo

As a wild form, it is the mother of numerous citrus hybrids – such as grapefruit and orange. The term ‘pomelo’ is the common English name for this citrus fruit, which is also sometimes called ‘pummelo’ or ‘shaddock’. It should not be confused with grapefruit, which is actually a hybrid of pomelo and sweet orange.

Fruit of kings: the pineapple

The pineapple (Ananas comosus) with its distinctive skin and green tuft of leaves is a real icon among tropical fruits. Originally native to South America, it was brought to Europe by Spanish sailors in the 16th century. There, its unique appearance and seductive taste caused such a sensation that it was soon regarded as the “fruit of kings”.

It became an exquisite luxury item that was elaborately cultivated in the orangeries and greenhouses of the ruling houses. Anyone who was able to serve their guests a pineapple showed power and wealth. Today, the tropical fruit is a cosmopolitan without royal status. Nevertheless, the pineapple still symbolizes exoticism and joie de vivre and enchants with its tropical freshness.

Pernoire - Anelo

What does Anelo by Pernoire smell like?

The opening of Anelo is an energetic mix of refreshingly tart pomelo and sweet, exotic pineapple. Crisp, tangy, airy – there is nothing sticky or over-sugared here as in some other tropical fragrances. The almost minty freshness of grapefruit and tart, fruity mandarin peel ensure transparency and vibrancy. Ginger underlines these facets with a subtle, citrusy, sparkling sharpness, while juicy mango brings a delicate tropical sweetness to the creation. Together with the aquatic, slightly floral notes of magnolia, the summer fragrance Anelo by Pernoire is almost as if a warm breeze is blowing through a summer garden. The composition is sustained and grounded by creamy, woody accents of vetiver and patchouli, which are gently enveloped by velvety ambergris.

With its fresh, invigorating and airy facets, Anelo is a summer fragrance that stays with you for a long time, even at high temperatures. An exotic, tangy blend of pineapple and pomelo, refined with fruity ginger, juicy mango and the floral aquatic nuances of magnolia, which immediately conjures up a vacation feeling. Ideal for all those who love Hesperides fragrances with a special touch – bright, transparent and clean. An uncomplicated, pleasant and energetic creation for any occasion in the warmer months of the year that is going straight onto my daily wear list. An absolute recommendation for anyone looking for a summer fragrance that is invigorating, refreshing and long-lasting.
