M\u00e9moire de Roses<\/a>, Contes du Levant<\/a> and L\u00e9gendes du C\u00e8dre<\/a> bring one of my favorite fragrance houses back to the Duft-Tagebuch: L’Artisan Parfumeur<\/a> has always delighted and enchanted me in recent years. And so I’m particularly looking forward to today’s trio, which, purely from cross-reading the texts, make me happy and excited. So let’s dive right into the world of L’Artisan Parfumeur and indulge in what are sure to be enchanting creations. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n

M\u00e9moire de Roses from Facebook<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n

M\u00e9moire de Roses – Limited Edition<\/h2>\n\n

I would like to start with the Limited Edition called M\u00e9moire de Roses, which features the ingredients mandarin, rose<\/strong> and musk<\/strong>. By the way, this is the only fragrance that has finite availability. The other two creations of today are not limited editions. M\u00e9moire de Roses, as you can already tell from the name, is all about the rose, about memories of this so enchanting flower that so often fascinates and delights us with an exceptionally beautiful fragrance.<\/p>\n\n

For centuries, millennia, the rose is revered. In Ancient Greece it was associated with Aphrodite, the goddess of beauty, love and flowers. Queen Marie-Antoinette of France loved roses above all else and cultivated numerous varieties of them in the park of her Petit Trianon Palace. The rose watercolors and panels by the artist Pierre-Joseph Redout\u00e9, who lived in the 18th and 19th century, and was held in high esteem by Marie-Antoinette, are an impressive example of botanical art.<\/p>\n\n

My inspiration came from a trip to India where I smelled a rose that inspired me a lot. A sparkling rose, very fresh, very bright.<\/p>Christophe Raynaud<\/cite><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n

Kissed by the Rose – M\u00e9moire de Roses<\/h3>\n\n

Perfumer Christophe Raunaud has already perfectly implemented his inspiration in the opening. Very bright and tangy, M\u00e9moire de Roses starts the fragrance course. Fine-tart and fruity-sweet tangerine shines in brilliant orange, accompanied by the pink notes of a spring and dewy rose, whose beautiful flowers gradually open in the early light of day. Slowly and quietly the fog rises, the air is still cool. <\/p>\n\n

The unity of citrus and flower is extremely harmonious, coherent and tight. The two ingredients ensnare each other, merging to create a floral freshness, a citrus rose that is simply stunningly beautiful. Musk powders in the background and finally takes over in the base. M\u00e9moire de Roses ends with a soft floral powder.<\/p>\n\n

\"L'Artisan<\/figure><\/div>\n\n

A light, fresh and transparent mix of citrus and rose is M\u00e9moire de Roses by L’Artisan Parfumeur. Very spring-like, summery and feminine, almost girly. An eau de parfum that is carefree, fun-loving and optimistic and carries the typical DNA of the French cult brand. For those who are still looking for a suitable fragrance for the warmer season, who love rose scents or L’Artisan Parfumeur in general, this composition might be worth a test. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n

Contes du Levant – L’Orient<\/h2>\n\n

The next two fragrance companions Contes du Levant and L\u00e9gendes du C\u00e8dre belong to the collection L’Orient, which includes five fragrances on the part of L’Artisan Parfumeur. At Aus Liebe zum Duft<\/a> are so far only the two Eaux de Parfum reviewed today available. The name of the collection already shows where the journey goes: to the Orient.<\/p>\n\n

L’Orient is a collection of fairy tales and legends that offers the image of a Middle East marked by dreams and fables, celebrating a rich and opulent nature.<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n

\"L'Artisan<\/figure><\/div>\n\n

Here, too, the perfumer Christophe Raynaud was creatively at work, who in Contes to Levant – translated: Stories from the Levant – presents us with a colorful bouquet of rose, pepper<\/strong> and patchouli<\/strong>. The press text speaks of Damask rose and Turkish rose, also frankincense and labdanum (cistus). It is also said to be a trio of white, pink and black pepper.<\/p>\n\n

Oriental Rose – Contes du Levant<\/h3>\n\n

Dark and majestic, almost sublime, the rose in Contes du Levant looks out at me, accompanied by a gentle but expressive pepper spiciness that accentuates and elevates the rose nuances. Dark and mysterious, it continues with smoky, resinous incense and the earthy, woody notes of patchouli, which underline the coloration of the composition, as well as the calm, almost meditative mood of the fragrance.<\/p>\n\n

Up to this point, Contes du Levant seems cool and a bit sacral, which is certainly due to the incense. Gently creamy and powdery accents join in the finish, providing a solid and harmonious base for the noble rose and its companions.<\/p>\n\n

\"L'Artisan<\/figure><\/div>\n\n

Contes du Levant is a completely different rose from the one that blooms in M\u00e9moire de Roses, but this was already clear from the start. The rose in the eau de parfum from the L’Orient collection is an oriental spicy and lush unisex floral fragrance, present and with a long durability, which looks modern, elegant and very mature. My conclusion: Top! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n

<\/div>\n\n

L\u00e9gendes du C\u00e8dre – Legendary Cedar<\/h2>\n\n

Legends of the Cedar translates as L\u00e9gendes du C\u00e8dres, which spontaneously makes me think of the US drama Legends of the Fall. But of course, I am completely on the wrong track here. The second creation from the collection with the name L’Orient revolves entirely around the cedar, whose natural habitat is northern Africa, the eastern Mediterranean and parts of the Himalayan region. The coniferous tree is valued and revered since ancient times. The Lebanon cedar is even immortalized on the flag of the country.<\/p>\n\n

L’Artisan Parfumeur combines in L\u00e9gendes du C\u00e8dres the fragrance notes of cedar wood, patchouli<\/strong> and saffron<\/strong>. The press text also reveals a scent participation of nutmeg and labdanum (cistus).<\/p>\n\n

\"L'Artisan<\/figure><\/div>\n\n

This fragrance is a woody nectar built around a creamy cedar with saffron accents.<\/p>Christophe Raynaud<\/cite><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n

Legends of the cedar<\/h3>\n\n

Another dark scent! L\u00e9gendes du C\u00e8dre starts with creamy and intense cedar notes that quickly combine with lush spicy saffron and the aromatic spiciness of nutmeg. By the way, the test strip reveals a somewhat different olfactory picture: much brighter, sweeter and lighter is the creation on paper and thus very far from the fragrance orientation on my skin.<\/p>\n\n

Quite quickly, L\u00e9gendes du C\u00e8dre calms down on my epidermis – after the stormy start to the fragrance. The creamy nuances reappear, as does a subtle warmth that skillfully rounds out the woody facets of the eau de parfum.<\/p>\n\n

\"L'Artisan<\/figure><\/div>\n\n

Cedar meets lush spices in L\u00e9gendes du C\u00e8dre. Saffron and nutmeg are clearly present, so you should be fond of these two fragrances. This creation also reveals itself to be very dark, a spicy-oriental woody scent that seamlessly follows and perfectly complements the Contes du Levant fragrance. Friends of wood-spice combinations without real sweetness might well lose their hearts to L\u00e9gendes du C\u00e8dre by L’Artisan Parfumeur.<\/p>\n\n
