I don\u2019t need to introduce Alessandro Gualtieri\u2019s fragrance project and pioneering niche fragrance brand to anyone. They\u2019ve been featured here many times before: If you\u2019d like to read more, check out <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alzd.de\/en\/tag\/nasomatto\/\">\u201cNasomatto in the Fragrance Diary<\/a>.\u201d And as I see it, I\u2019ve actually written most of those articles myself.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I discovered <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ausliebezumduft.de\/products\/nasomatto-micodeilrio\">Micodelirio&#8217;s<\/a> latest fragrance somewhere in the vastness of social media, specifically through this video:<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe hcb-fetch-image-from=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=BD4D6p4sal4\" title=\"MICODELIRIO \u2013 NASOMATTO\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/BD4D6p4sal4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There\u2019s no shortage of the eponymous madness here either. We accompany Alessandro, dressed in a historical, hobbit-like outfit, on a hike through a forest. Visual distortions suggest psychedelic effects. Finally, he finds a dripping, cone-shaped mushroom, which he breaks off. He then stands before the horizon in a triumphant pose, arms outstretched, holding the mushroom in one hand and his walking stick in the other. Let\u2019s deliberately set Mr. Freud aside for now.     <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Just as the name suggests, these images evoke the wondrous world of magic mushrooms; \u201cmico\u201d and \u201cdelirio\u201d hint at a \u201cfunghi\u201d high. \u201cThis perfume bottle is part of the Nasomatto project. The fragrance is the result of a natural delirium that gives rise to a thriving ecosystem of organic disobedience.\u201d Exactly what this disobedience might entail\u2014whether it involves playing with disgust or the consumption of such plants\u2014remains open to interpretation. As you surely know, intoxicating substances have often been a theme at Nasomatto.   <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"720\" height=\"1080\" src=\"https:\/\/www.alzd.de\/wp-content\/2026\/08\/Nasomatto_Micodelirio_DT-720x1080.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-139099\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.alzd.de\/wp-content\/2026\/08\/Nasomatto_Micodelirio_DT-720x1080.jpg 720w, https:\/\/www.alzd.de\/wp-content\/2026\/08\/Nasomatto_Micodelirio_DT-480x720.jpg 480w, https:\/\/www.alzd.de\/wp-content\/2026\/08\/Nasomatto_Micodelirio_DT-240x360.jpg 240w, https:\/\/www.alzd.de\/wp-content\/2026\/08\/Nasomatto_Micodelirio_DT-768x1152.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.alzd.de\/wp-content\/2026\/08\/Nasomatto_Micodelirio_DT.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Freedom Through Intoxication<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The information provided in the press release can be summarized as follows. Gualtieri views *Micodelirio* as a vehicle for breaking down norms, including those we have imposed on ourselves regarding our own identity. How does this work? Through a delirium that is understood not as an illness, but as a life force that leads us back to our instincts.   <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who&#8217;s staring over there?<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The cap is\u2014once again\u2014part of the message. Gualtieri calls it \u201ca seed pod that\u2019s not of this world.\u201d It does indeed look strange, yet organic and familiar; the holes are reminiscent of eyes or mouths and evoke a certain unease\u2014at least for me. Not for people with a genuine fear of holes. According to Wikipedia, trypophobia is \u201ca feeling of revulsion or fear that some people experience when looking at patterns of holes or bubbles.\u201d Do you feel the same way?     <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">This is what Micodelirio smells like<\/h2>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"861\" height=\"1080\" src=\"https:\/\/www.alzd.de\/wp-content\/2026\/08\/micodelirio-861x1080.jpg\" alt=\"Micodelirio by Nasomatto\" class=\"wp-image-139412\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.alzd.de\/wp-content\/2026\/08\/micodelirio-861x1080.jpg 861w, https:\/\/www.alzd.de\/wp-content\/2026\/08\/micodelirio-574x720.jpg 574w, https:\/\/www.alzd.de\/wp-content\/2026\/08\/micodelirio-287x360.jpg 287w, https:\/\/www.alzd.de\/wp-content\/2026\/08\/micodelirio-768x964.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.alzd.de\/wp-content\/2026\/08\/micodelirio-1224x1536.jpg 1224w, https:\/\/www.alzd.de\/wp-content\/2026\/08\/micodelirio.jpg 1632w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 861px) 100vw, 861px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Created with AI<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You get exactly what you\u2019d expect here\u2014musty forest floor, mushrooms doing their thing on decaying tree trunks, mud, earth, and wet leaves. Especially in the base note, you really feel the earth on your skin. I would have expected a monumental patchouli note here. Of course, it\u2019s present\u2014but not in its hippie-goth form\u2014rather, combined with unexpected notes. Citrus fruits like bergamot in the top notes are the first surprise. Added to this are green, woody-coniferous notes that become quite sharp and biting. The scent so far is then softened with narcotic florals, which, however, don\u2019t fully venture out of hiding. In the base, you get \u201cmold de luxe\u201d with mushrooms, earth, and mud\u2014but still wrapped in the warmth of vanilla.       <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What on earth is this, one might rightly ask. A chypre gone astray\u2014or rather, down forest paths. I find this genre challenging to begin with, and in this combination, it\u2019s definitely for advanced users. Still, Micodelirio isn\u2019t purely a concept fragrance; it\u2019s certainly wearable, but only with caution and in moderation.     <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I think Micodelirio is just the thing for all fragrance enthusiasts who love complex, historic scents\u2014for forest dwellers and free spirits who have discovered the creative power of the subversive. In my opinion, that\u2019s the core concept behind the fragrance anyway.
