Just the day before yesterday we talked about neo-gourmands and today I am presenting the next representative of this fragrance genre: Mochi Musk<\/a> by Mancera<\/a>. Although the latest eau de parfum from the French niche fragrance house focuses on gourmand accents, instead of opulent sweetness, rice, pistachio and musk form a modern skin scent here. In this way, Mochi Musk serves the still very popular theme of clean, minimalist fragrances and combines this with a deliciously gourmand background. <\/p>\n

But Mochi Musk<\/a> goes even further. It not only picks up on a currently extremely popular olfactory genre, but also combines two ingredients that are becoming increasingly common in the world of niche fragrances: Rice and pistachio. <\/p>\n\n

When I think of rice, I immediately think of the wonderful L’Eau Papier<\/a> by Diptyque, of course, but also of Dirty Rice<\/a> by BORNTOSTANDOUT, Dolce Riso<\/a> by Cal\u00e9 Fragranze d’Autore or Blanc Poudre<\/a> by Heeley, each of which interprets the theme of rice in its own unique way. Pistachio is also increasingly becoming a permanent guest in the niche fragrance sector. Mochi Musk opens with a wonderful nutty sweetness that is creamy and smooth. The light, cereal-like notes of rice are also noticeable here. They combine with the greenish nutty accents of pistachio and lend the composition light and airy tendencies. I perceive the rice notes as very authentic and immediately make me think of steamed, freshly cooked rice. Vanilla and iris provide powdery, spicy nuances that underline the gourmand facets of the creation, accompanied by tonka bean and musk. In the finish, the eau de parfum becomes cleaner, airier and more transparent, gradually fading away with radiant clean notes. <\/p>\n\n

For all fans of fragrances with nutty notes, with rice and powdery, cozy and minimalist-clean accents and fine gourmand vibes, Mochi Musk could be just the thing. A creation with a medium presence and just as much longevity that can be worn in the warmer seasons as well as on cooler days.
