At the heart of Red Flag<\/a> from Fascent<\/a> is an ingredient that is not necessarily immediately associated with perfume: Beet. It’s a culinary classic – either you love it or you give it a wide berth. I definitely belong to the first category, whether as a salad, pickled or from the oven. Even a pink pasta with beet sauce has been on my must-cook list for ages. But before this drifts into a kitchen story, let’s turn our attention to the real star of the day: Red Flag eau de parfum. <\/p>\n

Red Flag – Beetroot on the skin<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

Before we delve deeper into the composition, it’s worth taking a quick look at the protagonist: the beet. Botanically, it belongs to the foxtail family and is closely related to chard and sugar beet. Its characteristic, slightly earthy scent comes from so-called geosmines<\/em>, molecules that we can also smell in the air after summer rain. It is precisely this mixture of mineral freshness and gentle, almost sweet earthiness that makes beet so special – both in the kitchen and in perfumery. <\/p>\n\n

Red Flag opens with the spicy-fresh, powdery-earthy and mineral nuances of cardamom and iris, accompanied by a subtle, citrusy ginger spiciness. In the background, a subtle incense note pervades the composition, while patchouli and vetiver deepen the creamy, earthy accents of iris with woody, mossy facets. Added to this is the warm sweetness of palo santo, which creates extremely harmonious and authentic beet vibes. At the same time, the creation remains airy and never seems dense or heavy. <\/p>\n\n

Fascent’s eau de parfum is a calm fragrance that is close to the skin with a moderate presence and a medium-lasting scent. The beet remains perceptible throughout the entire fragrance and lends the composition a slightly earthy, mineral character. Iris, cardamom and warm, woody notes blend harmoniously around it and form a balanced, calm melange that you want to let yourself fall into. An unusual fragrance to enjoy. <\/p>\n\n
