The Essences Collection from Amouage<\/a> is no longer entirely new. Last year, the Omani fragrance house presented the first three creations in this line. Line 618<\/a>, Remain<\/a> and Sequence<\/a> were recently followed by another trilogy, which is the focus of today’s article. The collection is characterized above all by an unusually elaborate production process. The perfume oils are first stored together with Australian sandalwood chips for six months, while the alcohol used matures in French oak barrels at the same time. Only then are the two components brought together – a process that is intended to give the fragrances additional depth and a particularly smooth structure. <\/p>\n\n\n

Line 618, Remain and Sequence form a new trilogy within the Amouage Essences Collection. Three fragrances that each embody their own idea of time and movement – and yet are linked by their extraordinary production methods. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Line 618 – The harmony of the golden ratio<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The name Line 618 refers to the so-called golden ratio, a proportion of 1.618, which has been a symbol of harmony and balance since ancient times. This mathematical constant appears again and again in art, architecture and nature: in classical buildings, in the composition of famous paintings – such as Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa – or in the proportions of many natural forms. The ratio of the golden ratio is perceived as particularly balanced and aesthetic. The composition of Line 618, created by perfumer Nathalie Lorson<\/a>, seems to be based on precisely this idea of balance, structure and fine tuning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
