This line was created as an olfactory response to the extraordinary experiences of 2020 and 2021, in which confinement, standstill and resilience dominated our everyday lives before lightness and joie de vivre slowly returned and we were able to find our way back to a certain normality. With Lost in Translation<\/a>, Nature Insolente<\/a> and Poom Poom<\/a>, Maison Matine translates these impressions into three very different compositions, all of which share a common theme: the scent of a new beginning.<\/p>\n\n\n

Nature Insolente – Untamed nature<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With Nature Insolente<\/a>, Maison Matine focuses on the power, resilience, and untamed nature of the natural world. Artist Mathilde Purseigle adorned the bottle with a beetle\u2014a symbol of eternity and adaptability\u2014to remind us that nature sets the standard. It is the benchmark we must strive to achieve. The fragrance is like an invitation to return to our roots, question our habits, and live in harmony with our environment. Perfumer Philippine Court\u00ecere combined the ingredients orange, lemon, bergamot, lily of the valley, mint, honeydew melon, vetiver, cedarwood<\/strong> and musk<\/strong> in this creation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Radiant citrus fruits combine with the green freshness of mint in the opening notes of Nature Insolente, creating a wonderfully spring-like, summery and joyful scent. Lily of the valley brings gentle aquatic and floral aspects to the creation, which combine with citrus and mint to form a blend that reminds me of green tea. A hint of sweetness is added by honeydew melon. It underscores the watery accents of the composition, while vetiver, cedarwood, and musk lend clean, creamy, and crystalline nuances that beautifully round off the fragrance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Poom Poom – pure joie de vivre<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With Poom Poom<\/a>, Maison Matine brings a touch of carefree joie de vivre to the Refresh Collection. The fragrance captures those moments when life seems so wonderfully easy\u2014little moments that bring a smile to our faces and allow us to look to the future with a light heart. The bottle is colorfully illustrated by artist Mathilde Purseigle and reflects exactly that: joie de vivre, positive energy, exuberance \u2013 and all with a wink. Perfumer R\u00e9mi Barbier was responsible for the olfactory realization of the creation, combining the ingredients rose, mandarin, orange, kiwi, orchid, peony, freesia, musk, sandalwood, ebony<\/strong>, and vanilla<\/strong> in Poom Poom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Poom Poom starts off cheerful, fruity, and floral, immediately putting you in a good mood. The combination of fruits and flowers is very harmonious and well-rounded. The citrus fruits and kiwi provide delicate, sparkling facets that are captured by powdery, transparent flowers. The rose is youthful, fresh, and dew-kissed, while freesia and peony bring airy, aquatic notes to the eau de parfum. Gradually, the fruitiness recedes and the floral-powdery nuances come to the fore. Sandalwood and musk bring a clean warmth and fluffy-soft feel-good accents to the composition, rounding it off harmoniously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lost in Translation – Between the worlds<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With Lost in Translation<\/a> of the Refresh Collection, Maison Matine captures the feeling of disorientation when everything familiar suddenly disappears and we find ourselves in unfamiliar territory, in completely new situations and circumstances. The fragrance tells of new beginnings and uncertainty, but also of the curiosity to embrace something completely new when leaving old patterns behind. Artist Perrine Honor\u00e9 designed the bottle with a colorful, surreal illustration: a figure with flaming hair gazes thoughtfully, almost lost, into the distance, while palm trees, comets, and dinosaurs appear around her. Everything seems fragmented, jumbled up, almost dreamlike or apocalyptic. Perfumer Laurent Marrone was responsible for the olfactory interpretation of Lost in Translation, combining aquatic notes, violet leaves, juniper, rosewood, black pepper, white tea, patchouli, woods, tobacco, leather<\/strong> and musk<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Powdery, herbaceous violet leaves meet sparkling, woody juniper in the opening notes of Lost in Translation, while the aquatic notes seem to join forces with white tea, bringing greenish, flowing, fresh water nuances to the composition. Creamy, earthy patchouli and crystalline, molecular leather musk provide a soft, clean backdrop, to which tobacco adds a honey-like sweetness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lost in Translation is an aquatic, woody, and powdery fragrance that is somehow elusive to me\u2014sometimes cool and clear, sometimes warm and gentle. It is precisely this ambivalence that makes it so appealing. It is not a fragrance for every occasion, but one for special moments when you feel like wearing something unconventional and consciously embarking on an olfactory adventure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
