Is that still healthy? I always have the highest expectations of Rubini. And then they are fulfilled. But in a completely different way than I thought. And that’s exactly what makes it so appealing. Rubini hits a nerve with me, I admit that. Julia had already<\/a> brought back her first impressions of the new fragrance Idil\u00ecos<\/a> from the trade fair in Milan, which only increased the excitement. As with Hyperion, there is also a movie that illustrates the basic mood. After astronautics into the depths of the soul, a completely different picture now opens up. In my opinion, Rubini have created an artificial word with the name Idil\u00ecos. From the Italian idillio and with Idil\u00ecos they want to remind people of ancient or modern Greece. <\/p>\n\n

Id\u00eclios celebrates harmony. Id\u00eclios is dedicated to all those who have weathered the storm and have now found peace. For all those who have traveled far only to find that the perfect moment has always been there, just waiting to be discovered. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n

Between the lines, it is easy to read that the story here ties in with Hyperion<\/a>. The journey and the storm have been weathered and now an idyllic harmony is spreading. What I don’t expect is a postcard idyll, kitsch or glorified country life, as one might expect from an idyll. We know perfumer Cristiano Canali too well for that. <\/p>\n\n

Idil\u00ecos – Heaven-scent <\/h2>\n\n
\"Idilìos<\/figure>\n\n

As usual, the top notes stand out particularly well on the test strip. The nose is guided through the fragrance almost in a textbook-like manner. A halo of sweet mandarin and radiant bergamot floats above an ethereal, almost molecular hint of peach and fine coconut. These notes cannot be described without further explanation. No, not a fruit basket, not a gourmand peach, but very subtle, floating, ethereal. This coconut note should also appeal to those who are otherwise critical of the three-eyed orbs. Far removed from sun cream or tropical Bounty impressions, natural, tart and restrained. Osmanthus contributes its apricot and creamy floral nuances here. Important; not sweet! <\/p>\n\n

As with any perfume experience, personal experience, knowledge of fragrances and also the receptors play a role. Green tea is not perceptible to me and the vanilla, which according to the brand is represented by three different extracts, plays a rather subordinate role in my eyes. Incidentally, there is still a balsamic, slightly animalistic hint in the finish, which fits perfectly into the picture. <\/p>\n\n

\"Idilìos<\/figure>\n\n

An island far away within us<\/h2>\n\n

As you have already noticed, we are not being whisked away to the tropical island idyll of a Bacardi advertisement. This paradise island is perhaps no more real than the cosmos in Hyperion was. It is right inside our heads. Idil\u00ecos<\/a> sets the tone, accentuating it with notes that we would generally describe as paradisiacal. However, this ethereal lightness with its vague allusions leaves us so much space that our imagination can tell the story to the end. <\/p>\n\n

The island of Idil\u00ecos lies under a pastel-colored sky, in the midst of cotton-soft clouds. An idyll that does not exist for free, but is the result of a long journey, perhaps even a struggle. A little bit of heaven, the afterlife and eternity resonate. <\/p>\n\n

\"Idilìos<\/figure>\n\n

I consider myself to be a generally open-minded person, but to be honest I didn’t expect to be enthusiastic about an apricot osmanthus fragrance with coconut accents. However, the accords used here are extremely subtle and unsweet. Even men who are otherwise reluctant to cross the classic perfume gender boundaries can easily go along here.
