Golden Amber<\/a> by Floris<\/a> is more than just a fragrance. It is the mood of an evening stroll along the shores of Lake Garda – captured in a bottle. Inspired by the magic and fascination of a sunset over Italy’s largest lake, this eau de parfum combines Mediterranean flair with the timeless elegance of British fragrance art. Following Purple M\u00e9moire by Floris – fragrance poetry in lavender<\/a>, Golden Amber is another olfactory tale from Floris. <\/p>\n

Behind the creation is Nicola Pozzani, Floris’ in-house perfumer and himself a native Italian. His childhood memories, the impressive play of light over the water, the scent of the ubiquitous cypress trees and the hint of summer in the air … he incorporated all of this into the composition. It is his very personal homage to that fleeting and so special moment when the daylight takes on a golden color and Lake Garda seems to glow amber. <\/p>\n\n

Golden Amber – Fascination Lake Garda<\/h2>\n\n

The beauty of Lake Garda is not only a source of fascination for Nicola Pozzani. Great personalities such as Winston Churchill, Sir Laurence Olivier and Vivien Leigh once found peace and inspiration on its shores. They were all not only loyal customers of the traditional British perfume house Floris, but also lovers of the picturesque scenery around Lake Garda. For example, they enjoyed the Italian sun in Torri del Benaco, a charming town on the eastern shore of Lake Garda. The historic Hotel Gardesana, a 15th century building that was once the seat of the Gardesana dell’Acqua council, towers above the harbor. The hotel’s terrace offers a breathtaking view of the lake and the surrounding mountains – a sight that has enchanted many guests. <\/p>\n\n

Not far away is Punta San Vigilio, an idyllic peninsula with the historic villa and the Locanda San Vigilio located on the harbor. This place, surrounded by cypresses and olive trees, has also been a retreat for many celebrities, actors, artists and statesmen. The peaceful atmosphere and the natural beauty of the picturesque backdrop of Lake Garda were a source of inspiration and relaxation for them. Pozzani used the ingredients bergamot, fig, blackcurrant, aquatic notes, almond blossom, neroli, rose, geranium, ambergris, tonka bean, patchouli<\/strong> and sandalwood<\/strong> to create an olfactory homage to the special light and enchanting landscapes of the northern Italian lake. <\/p>\n\n

Golden Amber opens with a fresh, citrusy-tart prelude. Sparkling citrus fruits combine with a salty, ozonic sea breeze and fine cassis fruitiness to create an airy, light summery melange. Shortly afterwards, the nectar-sweet floral notes of rose and geranium join in, lending the fragrance a floral lightness. Delicate almond blossom adds creamy, sweet-soft nuances, yet the composition remains transparent overall and characterized by citrusy freshness. It is only in the base that a gentle warmth emerges, rounding off the fragrance without weighing it down. Ambergris and sandalwood envelop Golden Amber in a powdery, velvety light – like the golden hour just before sunset. This warm depth gives the eau de parfum a comforting radiance that invites you to pause and enjoy. <\/p>\n\n

This Floris creation is a harmonious blend of Mediterranean citrus freshness, creamy blossoms and maritime accords, supported by a soft, powdery base.
