Bois Sauvage<\/a> and K\u00e9rylos<\/a> are the next two contributions from L’Ob<\/a>jet that I would like to present to you today. I like to remind you of my articles L’Objet – When art becomes fragrance<\/a> and Rose Noire and C\u00f4t\u00e9 Maquis by L’Objet – Of dark roses and the Corsican maquis<\/a>, which revolve around the brand itself and the label’s first three eaux de parfum. Today, the Mediterranean is still at the heart of the creations, interpreted in two different ways. <\/p>\n

\"L'Objet<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n

After a wonderfully lipsticky and spicy Oh Mon Dieu!<\/a>, a meditative and elegant Rose Noire<\/a> and a wonderfully herbaceous and incensey C\u00f4t\u00e9 Maquis<\/a> reminiscent of Corsica, I am looking forward to today’s two creations, which will probably revolve around woody and citrusy notes. Bois Sauvage once again comes from the pen of Yann Vasnier, while K\u00e9rylos was created by Jean-Claude Ellena. The latter will only be available in our store in a few weeks’ time, but can already be pre-ordered if you are interested. <\/p>\n\n

Bois Sauvage – Wild forest<\/h2>\n\n

As beautiful, balanced and harmonious as L’Objet’s creations have been so far, I can’t imagine that the Bois Sauvage<\/a> fragrance is really as wild as the name might suggest. After all, sauvage<\/em> is the French word for “wild”. However, the term “untouched” can also be found in my online dictionary<\/a>, which could change the term from wild to pristine and\/or natural. In any case, the fragrance notes bergamot, spices, cypress, jasmine, vanilla<\/strong> and tobacco<\/strong> suggest a fresh, coniferous and creamy composition. The brand itself describes the fragrance as follows: <\/p>\n\n

A walk in the woods after the rain. A wild landscape that comes to life when raw notes of Italian bergamot and spices mingle with the heady aromas of a pine forest. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\"L'Objet<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n

Bois Sauvage starts out present, lush, spicy, aromatic, smoky and coniferous, while at the same time displaying dry, airy nuances. I can really relate to the association with a forest after a downpour. In fact, the eau de parfum has mineral-earthy, dark, deep coniferous nuances that smell of moss, leaves and nature. Even though the ingredient is not listed in the official fragrance notes, I perceive strong incense vibes. Bois Sauvage is indeed original and authentic. Fresh and cool, tart, in my eyes also masculine, striking, sacred, a creation to which I would definitely attribute rough edges, because I would not necessarily describe the fragrance per se as pleasing. <\/p>\n\n

Intensely coniferous, incense-like, with acute forest-in-the-mist accents and an autumnal, melancholy mood, which for me somehow stands in contrast to the presence, power and expressiveness of the composition, Bois Sauvage is exactly what the name promises. Not a wild forest, but a pristine one. The scent of untouched nature, in which I find so much: leaves, earth, roots, wafts of mist, boulders covered in moss, a cool breeze that carries freshness and moisture. In addition, an almost meditative calm and serenity, sweetish golden notes that round off the creation beautifully. Perfect for all forest and nature lovers! \ud83d\udc9a<\/p>\n\n

K\u00e9rylos – The scent of the kingfisher<\/h2>\n\n

The eau de parfum K\u00e9rylos<\/a> was created by Jean-Claude Ellena. It is “inspired by the sun-drenched, wild landscape of the Mediterranean” and “embodies […] the vitality of nature”. K\u00e9rylos<\/em> is an ancient Greek word and literally means “kingfisher”. It is closely associated with happiness, prosperity and a positive future. Thus, in Greek mythology, the kingfisher symbolizes peace and tranquility, especially at sea, as it was believed to calm the waters while laying its eggs. Master perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena used the ingredients yuzu, grapefruit, galbanum, mastic, sandalwood<\/strong> and white musk<\/strong> for the composition. <\/p>\n

\"L'Objet<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n

The picture and the fragrance notes give you an idea. It’s going to be citrusy! When you sniff it, this assumption is of course immediately confirmed. K\u00e9rylos is summery and sunny. A tangy, tart and sweetly sparkling mix of different citrus fruits opens the creation in a harmonious, balanced and cheerful way. Fresh, dynamic, light and airy and yet wonderfully present, powerful and with an excellent longevity that many other Hesperides fragrances can take a leaf out of their book. Greenish and light woody accents provide clean, Mediterranean and exciting facets, while crystalline musk powders the composition delicately and harmoniously. <\/p>\n\n

I am absolutely thrilled with K\u00e9rylos, as the eau de parfum is exactly to my taste. A very harmonious, beautifully balanced and beautifully composed fragrance that immediately transports me to summer and the Mediterranean. Perfect for anyone who loves expressive, authentic citrus fragrances, who is still looking for a perfect summer creation and who has a soft spot for tangy, clean, woody eau de parfums. Simply wonderful and a must-have for me and I’m sure for many of you too. \ud83d\udc9b<\/p>\n\n
