In the second part on the L’Objet<\/a> brand, I would like to introduce you to the two eaux de parfum Rose Noire<\/a> and C\u00f4t\u00e9 Maquis<\/a>. Yesterday, my article L’Objet – When art becomes fragrance<\/a> was about the label itself, which initially concentrated on luxurious designer tableware and accessories for the home and table design, before launching its own Apothecary range of skincare products and bath salts in recent years. Most recently, room fragrances and perfumes have been added to the portfolio of the brand founded by Elad Yifrach in California in 2004, enriching the L’Objet range both visually and olfactorily. <\/p>\n

Yesterday I also introduced you to Oh Mon Dieu!<\/a> eau de parfum, which I really liked. Even after several hours, the scent was still perceptible on my skin and still really great. Yesterday I already gave my recommendation for the creation and I am very excited to see what today’s two compositions have to offer. <\/p>\n\n

Rose Noire – Rose at dusk<\/h2>\n\n

It should be relatively clear that Rose Noire<\/a> is a rose fragrance. When reading the ingredients, I am pleased that one ingredient that is often used in combination with the queen of flowers is missing. Oud is not<\/em> listed, but rather allspice, white pepper, rose, tea<\/strong> and moss<\/strong>. So it’s quite clear in terms of the number of fragrance notes. The name component Noir(e) suggests a black, dark rose, which I cannot make out from the ingredients at first glance. <\/p>\n\n

Let us be surprised by what perfumer Yann Vasnier has created here for the L’Objet brand. The press release gives us the following information: “The essence of a rose garden at dusk, when the elements come together in a velvety blend of exotic flowers contrasting with earthy spices and Ceylon tea.” <\/p>\n

Rose Noire is the kind of rose I like. In fact, it is not overly dark, but rather spicy, transparent and a little thoughtful. Not a youthful, carefree rose in squeaky pink, but an elegant, mature and also a little sophisticated rose that has both feet firmly on the ground. Opening with dry, cool and fresh notes of allspice and white pepper, the queen of flowers is soon joined by flowing notes reminiscent of green tea, which lend her additional calm and depth. Creamy, earthy nuances finally bring the fragrance to a close. <\/p>\n\n

The eau de parfum by L’Objet is a gentle, cozy and finely balanced rose fragrance that is nuanced with spicy-dry, flowing-greenish and cozy-soft notes and which I would classify as relatively unsweet and calming. Perfect for anyone who likes meditative, transparent and modern rose fragrances without a lot of chichi and glitter. I would describe myself as a rose skeptic, but I would wear this eau de parfum immediately, for any occasion and any season. A floral all-rounder that is wonderfully unagitated and beautifully composed. Big rose noire love for me! \ud83c\udf39<\/p>\n\n

C\u00f4t\u00e9 Maquis – Corsica’s landscapes<\/h2>\n\n

C\u00f4t\u00e9 Maquis<\/a> is dedicated to the French Mediterranean island of Corsica, its rocky, rugged terrain, the characteristic maquis, the evergreen scrubland overgrown with low shrubs that covers so many regions of the Mediterranean. C\u00f4t\u00e9 can be translated as “coast” or “side”. Maquis is the French word for scrubland. The proximity to the sea, as Corsica is surrounded by it, can also be seen in the ingredients that I would like to list below: salty notes, incense, labdanum (cistus)<\/strong> and cashmere wood<\/strong>. Here too, Yann Vasnier has acted with restraint in terms of quantity – at least as far as the official fragrance notes are concerned. Once again, class rather than quantity seems to be the motto of this very special label. <\/p>\n\n
